Barrett's South Coast Spottage

Where the lost, lonely and mentally ill can now be found chatting about MISERABLE motor vehicles. No O/T posts.

Top update Barrett! I take it you're cycling a bit further afield to get these fresh ones?

What's happened to the front valance on that Herald? Has it melted? (fibreglass?) I would be exceptionally proud of that Espace. I agree that the last item is a petrol pump. Were there any signs of it being a garage site?

Actually Seth that last batch was almost entirely from central Brighton. Herald valance was crafted from finest gaffa tape!

Time for a few more relatively unexciting spottings. The tat has not been too thick on the ground round here of late, it's definitely time for a day trip somewhere further afield.

I've snapped this before, but it hasn't moved at all in the three years since. Owner's daily is a Ferrari 348(? - the rubbish '90s one)

Showing its years rather more dramatically is this Fiat 500 in somebody's back garden. I reckon it might have been there for a while

Saw this utterly gorgeous Scim coupe in Lewes. Definitely the nicest example I've ever seen in a lovely greenish gold colour that isn't done justice by this photo. David Ogle Best Designer and all that.

9 (nine) more vehicles that you may want to look at

And the next lot have been seen on the journey to/from work, which in itself is still quite a novelty. I use the busiest road in/out of Brighton for the first bit fo the journey and there is something interesting almost every day but I don't have the opportunity to stop and get photos. There are the ones I have managed to capture

Re: Barrett's South Coast Spottage

Today Gary and I went to Wokingham to pick up some bits of Herald to replace all the rusty stuff on BOND. It is still a bit rusty but much better than what I have at the moment. The place I got it from was some sort of little breakers/ resto place on a farm in the middle of nowhere. Seemed like a bit of a treasure trove of hopeless old tat though we didn't really poke around too much as we were only there briefly.
I think this was the chap's daily driver. Not to my taste at all but I'm sure it's pretty fun
Image

This hopeless old Morris looked like it had just been pulled out of a field after 40 years, it was utterly hanging but he was stripping off all the usable parts and flogging them on, fair play

Image

Some on-the-hoof spottage on our way back before we hit the motorway yielded what I at first thought was a pretty boring spot, but on inspecting the photo when I got home I noticed that odd plaque on the bootlid... informing the world that this Dolly is fitted with CVT transmission by Perbury Engineering. I can't find any info on these things online but it seems this firm patented a CVT system as far back as the '30s, presumably pre-dating the Van Hool job by many years.

More regular spottage from down here. I've actually seen loads of stuff recently, though none of it particularly mind-blowing

I have just actually 'lol'd at the amount of parcel tape on that Bluebird.

That white Herald looks like it'd be perfect as a donor for a stupid plastic car.

Probably overdue an update here. These will be familiar to those of you on Flickr, SORRY
