So, I've been looking for something RUTHLESS for a wee while, since the Lotus* went, and in between going to visit an old Scirocco (which obviously had a roof), and a couple of MGFs (both terrible in the flesh) and an MR2 that had bad paint, I did that old Ian Bollox trick of putting in a derisory offer on an ebay BIN and forgetting all about it. So yeah, that happened, and luckily I didn't buy any of the other cars I went to see, and then I was in a meeting at work and got an email saying "WELL DONE, WHEN YOU PAYING FOR IT YEAH?", and I hastily arranged some trains. Classic insurance didn't like it, but managed to fudge it on an MGOC policy which they also administer and I avoid cancellation fees on the other insurance.
My, how interesting, tell me more about ringing a company up and procuring insurance off them
So yeah, I went to Chesterfield on the train (11 mins train, 20 mins bus to station) and nice MG Selling fella picked me up, whisked me back to his yard, we slagged off some mutual motor trade acquaintances, and then I drove home, completely shitting myself, but completely without incident.

Admittedly I've only done 30 or so miles in it so far, but the coolant is currently still as it should be...

Oh yeah, it's from Birmingham.

THE END.

It looks quite honest and tidy, I like the original dealer plates.
What's it like to drive? I remember them being well rated when new apart from the light electric power steering.

If the K goes pop I'm sure a 1.4 TUD out of an old Metro diesel would go straight in

It's ACE to drive. Very very pleasantly surprised. Went out in the peaks this morning, and it was freezing but lovely and sunny. I think it's the fastest car I've ever owned. Certainly is going by official figures. And it still hasn't burst or owt. *checks coolant AGAIN* *breathes out*

It was up at £800 and I offered £600. Considering how un-fucked it (currently) appears to be, I consider it a MEGA-BARG.

Amusingly, it's still on! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151021891446?ssPageName=STRK:MEBOFFX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1432.l2649

It's been sunny this week. So I've been ragging about the countryside, with and without baby_tone (who asserts new car is "better than Legoland") in the sun. Coolant and oil remain resolutely separate (for now).

One moment of excitement coming back from Stanage Edge, full beans up a quite steep hill, the temp gauge started to plummet like a stone. My highly tuned spidey sense detected this immediately, shit my pants shut off and coasted to a halt in a convenient gateway, checked coolant, all fine. Put ignition back on, temp gauge half way, all beautiful. No issues since. It hasn't helped my nerves any, but hey ho.

Achievement: Moderately pink forehead = unlocked.
