Indeed. I wonder if there's more info on it out in the interwebs.

The Zephyr Coupe.
From an article in Classic Driver Mag, (NZ)

Only 1 Zodiac Coupe was built by Ford, by carbodies as a styling exercise. This car was created using some photos of the original as a guide. It is built from a saloon, not the expected convertible. Once the centre pillar was removed, stiffening from the convertible was used, carbodies made the conv. so it was assumed they had done the same. The process of getting the doors to the correct length took 2 years and to make it all look good the window surrounds from a Hillman Californian were used. Also note the boot hinges are external.
This is the result of 10 years work by a dedicated owner recreating a dream.

Now...what happened to the original, does someone on here have it tucked in a lockup somewhere ?

That is really very nicely done 8-) I suppose it was a labour of love like that shorty Mk1 Cortina over here, recreating a long gone styling exercise. I think I'd have tracked down some convertible doors though as that surely would have been easier than two years modifying four doors.

The doors are longer than convertible ones, the problem was to get the proportions right! I don't know what he did with the rear door section, but he probably built a new side piece. I thought of the Cortina while reading this article.
