Thannenkirch Classic Car show.
Posted: Thu Aug 29, 2013 8:40 pmNow this was a pleasant additional surprise to our holiday. We really did just stumble across a classic car show going on in a village. I really, honestly had not found out about it before hand and 'just happened' to drive there that day. HONESTLY.
There was a great mix of cars, mostly French including some rarities, some Americans and a smattering of British sports cars which I completely ignored.
BAM! 404 Coupe!
THUMP! Taunus!
WHACK! Glas coupe!
BIFF! Citroen derivatives.
OK, I might be running out of comic book superlatives now. Have a cool '55 Chevy on Moon discs.
Vespa dwarfed by Buick.
Swing around and here was the best bit. Just check this line up.
O. M. G. I have only ever seen a DB coupe before at Retromobile and I've never seen a Junior.
Happiest car ever.

Great combo for touring twisty mountain roads.
Mehari had a selection of veloped things.
Now, here's a car I had no clue about. In fact I've only found out what it is by having an internet search today. Anyone (Barrett probably) fancy hazarding a guess?

This was the week before the Mathis gathering but there were a couple there spreading the word.
A less bus like Delahaye turned up.
followed closely by this Lagonda Rapier.
I love these 304 coupes.
And finally here's an Amazon with a really odd set of (original, PaulH?) wire wheels.
