The shift in the bank holiday this year resulted in the organisers of the Enfield Pageant deciding to leave the show on the normal weekend but still make it a three day-er by doing the Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The only day I could go, was the Friday which I was expecting would be a bit quiet but my hope that the Autojumble was still good were realised and I spent a few very hot hours wandering up and down the isle trying to do my best to avoid the miscellaneous tat and seek out the proper old car stuff. There were a few 'show' cars dotted about on the club stands and elsewhere so I took a few pictures too. Itr was quite erie with so much space everywhere though. I presume it all filled up nicely on the other days what with the excellent weather.
Here's a selection of what I saw.
Standard.
Rare Series 2 Rapier, though not as rare as Series 1s.
Insert obvious, topical caption here.
This was shiny, and I rather like the colourful nature of this photo too.
Scat-spec A35. Had a chat with a couple of the guys sat behind, a couple of whom are local CO-OC stalwarts.
Yee-ha! These guys were chillin' behind their Galaxie.
Super scruffy TR interior.
A family portrait.
The L.A. Roadsters. L.A standing for London Area. Roadsters standing for modern American rubbish (and a Mini)
Gratuitous topless shot.
Council estate circa 1990 spec Escort. (I'm not sure if it was a Rebel Vanner or if it had parked there accidentally)
The regular Bedford line up by the hedge. So many of the cars that turn up are familiar to me now that the show is only really worth a quick scoot around even on a proper day. Its still worth going for the jumble though.
This was pretty stunning.
Sidevalve club have long had a reputation of being set in their ways, leading to great* variety on their stand.
This combo must look oh so cool on the road.
Ultra clean dangly Sierra
'Scat collected - no charge'
A few shinier commercials. The Thames trade had an A40 Farina oval track car on the back.
Here's a few shots I took while wombling round the jumble on a second quick circuit.
As you can see, there were wall to wall quality wares.
