Spots that I have Spotted.

Postby Seth » Sun Jun 10, 2012 9:58 pm

Its about time I started a new spotting thread following the downfall of MotoScat version 1. Fear not! All my earlier motoring monstrosities are saved but I'm not about to post them all up again. Live for the present!

Cruising with an 02 through Westminster. Seeing as they are so cool they go surfing, I was barely acknowledged.

A rebel van but nothing, I think, to do with the club. The other side has the Blues Brothers on.

Image

Small Fiat #1 almost in the shadow of the Olympic stadium.

Image

Small Fiat #2, not really in the shadow of a nearby Halfords.

Image

I mentioned seeing a car with a 'CVH Inside' sticker. This was it.

Image

Orion on the North Circ.

Image

I got a real surprise by this, in pouring rain on the way back from school. So much so I didn't manage to get it all in and I'm pretty sure I was spotted doing the spotting.

CPT.

Nice* plates.

Image

I bought some Austin Somerset wheels via Ebay a little while ago. The chap lived in this slightly odd static caravan park in a very posh area. This was his van.

Image

On the way back from his place I passed this.

Image

Long lens needed really.

Image

Not far away, I thought this looked rather like an old garage/service station.

Image

Image

I went on a secret A-S mission a couple of weeks ago, and netted this in the process.

Image

And these, thought I always expect to see the Amazon there. Sometimes an A35 too.

Finally, probably the best of this bunch, in Wembley. Cars, house, it all fits.

Some great stuff here, as usual. That last house is truly wonderful, looks like they've got a garage hidden behind the shrubs on the right too....

I'm willing to bet serious amounts of money that your half-captured silver Datsun is the one that lives in Brighton.

It is that one, same wing dent...

Good spots, but what's the significance of the Picanto pic? Am I missing something there?

Look behind the Picanto.

And what was that Datsun doing driving up my local high street in the rain, so far from home!

1. I think that Fiat 126 is the same one that frequents the car park at work (SE1), though it's not been there recently.
2. Your North Circ Orion is an Escort.
3. I'm still not sure what the Kia photo is about.
4. The Chevette/Escort/Fiesta/rotten windowframes combo is EXCELLENT.

A rather overdue emptying of the scat-phone. Though I might as well say that I saw that Datsun again last week so maybe it lives here now?

This SIMCA seems to have moved on now but it was nice to have it brightening up the street for a while.

We had some bonus Jowett content in the dungeon for a few weeks. Same family owned for a very long time.

This one is particularly horrendous.

Class, style, panache. Bus travel really is best.

Image

I see this Escort about quite a bit. At east I think its the same one. Pootled about by a chap who taught me at primary school.

Image

A Sherpa?

Image

Yes but if you can ignore the refelction, you can see it's an auto!

As seen in Picadilly Circus.

I have no recollection of where I saw this. Its good though.

Image

Its a bit cheating to include this as I know the streets where he normally parks it.

Thought I'd sign up and this looks like an appropriate enough place for my first post, since I know at least one person in here. Good spots! I'm always amazed by the number of old knackers still hanging together in central London. Sadly, not much classic chod about in SE any more as it's all got a bit status-symbol'y.

I saw the Datsun again today! Must be a regular commute to the Smoke I guess. I do like that P4, was it just a random person parked up outside or do you actually know the owner?

Also welcome Johnny69! Get some pics of your mega fit Anglebox up post haste

Welcome Jon, we're like the beige forum here but without the hate. Its very status symbol-y round here too but there still seems to be a reasonable number of old folks cars dotted about and being near major routes probably helps too.

Barrett, P4 was just random. Not a clue who's it is and not a car I have seen about either.

Had a mega spot today and its not even a car!

Image

I may have to go back and try to get proper photo rather than just a phone pic. Its probably had a sign for the glaziers shop that is all I can ever remember being there in my lifetime over it, since what, 1968 perhaps?!
