Are you ready for another excitement filled spotathon? Hold on to your hats!

Image

Well known Transit fetishist.

Image

Here's a tatty Fiesta.

Image

Yeah, go Fiat.

Image

Woof! I see this fairly often and it may have been 'spotted' before. Exactly how I like a Porsche to be.

Image

Image

Horological fair car park.

Image

What a honey! On the Kings Road, Chelsea on a sunny Sunday.

Image

Here's that shorty '57 Chevy with a freindly Willys

Image

Image

This Alvis brightened up a boring walk to school. Don't think I've seen it before.

Image

Dull.

Image

Duller

Image

Another school walk spot.

Image

What do I win for the set?

Image

Image

JAZZ

Image

Park Lane Fiat 500 gave me a big wave/thumbs up.

Image

That's it for now, but the summery weather is certainly bringing more interesting cars out of the woodwork.

Is that first spot one of those bizarre Hymer campers that are essentially a plastic caravan on a van chassis?

Vulga, err, yeah I suppose so but isn't that pretty much the definition of a camper van?

Here's some more hot summer spots.

This was on the way to the Donnington races, there being a big VW show somewhere about halfway up.

Image

Image

Not a VW.

Image

This was in the services on our way home.

Image

Quality spotting courtesy of Mrs_Seth.

Image

A moist Dyane

Image

That 007 Bentley,

Image

Proper '70s cop show spec. Mustang

Image

This GTi has obviously been through the wars a bit.

Image

I went to pick some (BORING) wheels up for PaulH from this man. There was a mid sixites Merc SL in the garage apparently.

Image

Opposite him lived this

Image

And around the corner, this battered Acty.

Image

Some German cars.

Image

Bond Street in an Alfa.

Image

And then this caught me by surprise on Friday.

Image

Finally, here is the very original house opposite midway through garden destruction. There's a planning note on the disabled pole for a dropped pavement. The side (and rear?) elevations of the roof have come off too, presumably so some Dormer windows or similar can go in.

Destruction of the original house is sad, I bet those charming wonky windows will give way to bland UPVC soon. Disappointing, unlike the spots.

Ah, the windows aren't actually that wonky, that's down to the wobbly glass in our own windows.

Suspect the windows aren't actually THAT wonky - it's the glass in Seth's front window that's wobbly.

Shame it'll all get a bit ruined though. Never know, they might be sympathetic to originality - I think we've found a buyer for my Grandmother's house who is keen to preserve as much as possible so there are like-minded people out there.

Liking the NOT SILVER german car, delightfully yummy. Were you not tempted to stop them and remove their engine?

The house opposite now has UPVC windows as ordinary as all the other houses on the street.

Mega spot update time!
Mrs_Seth saw this Traction somewhere.

Image

And this Volvo

Image

This was pretty cool to see. I dare say not many of these cars travel very far under their own steam these days and have to put up with getting trailered from garage to show and back to garage again.

Image

A CPT that I think has been previously discussed.

Image

Spotless DS was top of the range I think.

Image

Because London innit.

Image

Now, here's a proper way to travel around the North Circular.

Image

This old looking garage was in Croxley Green not far from the house where the Rootes cars were based.

Image

Citroens still appear at this address from time to time.

Image

Doing important business.

Image

Do like this 911.

Image

This may have been concours spec being towed to one of those mentalist VW shows.

Image

TR24

Image

Now this is probably going to go down as one of my best ever spots. Mrs_Seth had seen it a couple of weeks earlier and wasn't sure what it was so it might be local.

Image

Image

1994 called etc.

Image

Barrett knows where this is.

Image

That was taken the same day I had my most thrilling ever driving experience.

Image

The next few are from the car park at the Festival of Speed Thursday.

Image

Image

Image

Image

Range Rover definitely worthy of two photos.

Image

Image

Daily driven Lotus.

Image

Spare Lotus for when the other is broken, or visa versa. Seriously.

Image

I think I took this when they were having a whinge about London in the beige room. Could be worse places to drive on the way home from the dungeon.

Image

Brooklands Astra, with bonus VW which I'm not thinking about that thing.

Image

Have another CPT. I'm completely stumped. I can only think that its some sort of totally rubbish kit.

Image

Image

Garden Centre. Natch.

Image

Because Hendon Way Motors. Probably.

Image

Mexican.

Image

This is a classy way to travel, or add £££s to your property value.

Image

Image

Image

Can you tell what it is yet?

Image

Now maybe?

Image

This Humber was simply fantastic. Being piloted by two chaps who were undoubtedly readers of The Chap. Had a good chinwag with them as we drove through Camden.

Image

Image

Image

Image

'When I'm cleaning windows...'

Image

This was possibly a support car for the Rolls ahead.

Image

Tiny car fails to fit in photograph.

Image

And that's it.

Excellent. There is alot to like there.
I have previously seen that Cit Traction pondering about Marylebone sort of area, unfortunately every time it has been when I have been on the Comedy Bicycle so sorry no pics. Thought the DS was also a previous spot, but upon checking it was a different grey DS I see regularly.

RATLUK Humber is delightful, and the Hillman vs bavarians gave me a small LOL.

I'm sure I've seen that Avant bumbling along Shoreditch high street fairly recently actually, but had I managed to take a picture it'd have been dulled by so many locality-induced hipster filters it would have been unrecognisable anyway.

edit: Traction Avant, not some A6 wagon or something.

Very nice!

The big Humber is wonderful. Nice to see young-ish blokes wearing proper suits and driving a proper car about. I'm a bit jealous really. Ditto the Fiat 1100, that has to be one of the coolest things you could potter about in London in.
Hoow do I go to my thread ? How do I find my forum ? Howdo I go to the page I am typing?
