Ace Cafe Classics, June

Postby Seth » Wed Jun 13, 2012 9:32 am

A pleasantly dry, if overcast evening at the Ace last night. I wasn't to early myself so made sure to dash around and take a few photos before everyone drove home for a hot toddy. Supporting cast were Moto-Scat's own well spoken man and Em from the blue forum.

It was a good night for Frenchies.

The owner/driver looks puzzled by his wacky steering wheel.

Here's another Citroen interior.

Which belonged to this. I'm pretty sure it has appeared in a spotting thread of mine a few years ago, outside a house that has always had Citroens about.

Image

Look out! Its the seventies!

Don't often take photos of my own car at such events, but this was just to prove or remind myself that it made it there under its own new found power.

Another French honey, this had just been fully restored and was pristine.

A nice old Honda*

No-Scat Alfa. The owner of this has a continually changing stable of interesting cars and is at the Ace in something different almost every month.

This was free of lots of the Leyland bits it originally came with too.

And the Silver Aero to end in a smooth, streamlined fashion.

Not Always Auto

Rootes built Cortinas under licence and just changed the badging.

Sterling effort.
That Renualt 12 c'est incredible!
Anyone who fully restores one is clearly of sound mind and good character.

I'm really feeling the R12 love at the mo, that saloon and the green break at Bromley are, I think, the first examples I've ever seen in really good condition and they look GR12. Could they be on the cusp of 'going mainstream'?
Hoow do I go to my thread ? How do I find my forum ? Howdo I go to the page I am typing?

That Ventora is really Rather Nice. GM were doing some great stuff back then.

Owner of the Alfa sounds like Wuvvum, but with more money.
