MOTO-SCAT Calendar of Adventures

Postby admin » Thu May 10, 2012 9:21 am

Please use this thread to publicise forthcoming events, trips, days out etc.

Nothing too fancy required, just a brief summary of what is on offer... including:

What is the event
Where is it taking place
When is it happening (including a time of day)

How much does it cost to attend (if anything)
Any other business For instance are the limitations on the age or type of vehicle? Is there a 'dress code'?
If you have been before, or can find suitable illustration elsewhere, do include a couple of decent pics to whet the appetite.

Classics on the Common

Harpenden 25th July. Kicks off at 2pm and runs through until it gets dark. Best getting there early as the traffic is horrendous from 4 onwards.

You have to pre-enter to get a ticket to park on the common itself and this is highly advised as parking anywhere else is pretty tricky.

This is simply the best event of its type I reckon. The atmosphere is always so good, with crowds all over, lots of driving to and fro and all sorts of tasty machinery from the usual classic suspects through to real rarities. Parking on the common is 'restricted' to 20 years+ unless something 'special' like a Ferrari but most moderns stay away.

Somewhat advance notice but I just got thinking about how good a time I had at this last year.

A bit of a vintage leaning but still lots of good old and rubbish stuff parked about the place.

Historic Specials Day is the largest gathering of 'Barrett-approved cars' you'll ever see, it's been going on for years but I'm not sure how many 'outsiders' actually attend. It's hardly the best publicised event.

Would be great to finally get to one (after years of perving over pictures) but I guess it depends on the Cox Car Situation... It's a pretty massive slog from down here to Burford too :/ Somebody should go though!
Hoow do I go to my thread ? How do I find my forum ? Howdo I go to the page I am typing?

Car situation should - hopefully - be rectified by then so yeah, if so, we'll go.

Maybe IKB can represent the Scat at this and bring us a report?
