In the second of my irregular and badly-cobbled together brochure threads, I offer you this extensive gut-buster from Luton.
Sit back and drink in the marvellous 70's hues & fabrics...

Phwoar, Chevettes with inset headlights. It's a shame Vauxhall lost its independent identity, those 'flush nose' Vauxhalls look great.

An interesting time for Vauxhall styling. The Viva really does look dreadfully old fashioned next to the new Cavalier. Odd to think it carried on for another 4 years. I can't really work out why they bothered with that, apart from the estate version it seems totally redundant even as an economy model. Those big 'Transcontinentals' don't exactly look fresh either, although they weren't around for much longer I suppose.

Some pretty spurious claims about the Chevette's place in hatchback history in the blurb there, although the bird in the blue dress makes the Cav's interior look very inviting.
Hoow do I go to my thread ? How do I find my forum ? Howdo I go to the page I am typing?

I love the look of the GL/GLS spec Vauxhalls of this time, I suppose their equivalent of Ford’s Ghia models. Unlike today, you could really see that they were posher than the E, L etc versions.

I reckon the FE is an attractive car and aged quite well. However it really is rather odd that the Magnum was lurking around - even if there was a (small) place for the Viva, surely the Cavalier replaced it?

The Cavalier GLS Coupe is, along with the early Manta B, something of a personal favourite.

I think a Vauxhall brochure from this era must have been something my dad brought home about then, it’s all very familiar. May even have cut it up for sticking into a scrapbook, in the days before I knew better.

I've been back to look at these several times. One though that has struck me is how many environments and different backdrops there are and not an easy climate-less studio in sight.. It must have taken months to do the photography. I have no actual idea but at a guess I'd imagine a modern Vauxhall brochure to be mostly moodily lit studio shots. Of silver cars.
Not Always Auto

Rootes built Cortinas under licence and just changed the badging.

And Euro/worldwide photos too, nothing UK-specific.
