I have no life. The chronicle of a serial spotter.

I get two days off a week and always seem to spend at least one of them spotting old crud still about on the roads in the UK, but I can only really travel to London, and South London at that. Plus, Seth has North London covered, and I hate the goddamn tube.
Anyway, here is some South of England crap:

Image
1975 Volvo 245 DL. by bramm77, on Flickr
Spotted this in Penge, which is a bloody horrible bit of London, but there is a stupid amount of old cars around South East London.
Image
1984 Volkswagen Passat 1.6 L Estate. by bramm77, on Flickr
CPTC SLAM YO
Image
1979 Ford Granada 2.8 Ghia 'Sapphire'. by bramm77, on Flickr
WELL 'ARD. Pretty rare as Sapphire spec though....I think. HML said it didn't exist, THUS ITS THE ONLY ONE LEFT ETC ETC
Image
1975 Bedford TK Pantechnicon. by bramm77, on Flickr
OMG DIZEL IN THE LEZ ZONE. Nah, must be exempt due to being a mobile... thing of some sorts.
Image
1977 Leyland Sherpa 2.0 Diesel 'Himalayan' Campervan. by bramm77, on Flickr
hurrrrrrrrrrr, bet this smells well fresh as you step inside, like a 5 star hotel where someone has blocked the toilet.
Image
1984 Ford Escort 1.6i Cabriolet. by bramm77, on Flickr
One owner apparently. I hope the owner is some right cougar type.
Image
1978 Honda Civic 125. by bramm77, on Flickr
GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN
Image
1972 Ford Cortina 1600 XL. by bramm77, on Flickr
Mobile advert board, didn't look too good bodywork wise either.
Image
1990 Rover 820Si Hatchback. by bramm77, on Flickr
Saw this banger parked up later at the local conservative club...
Image
1989 Honda Ballade EX Auto. by bramm77, on Flickr
Screw the Ballade, I got soaked.
Image
1979 Honda Civic 3D Automatic. by bramm77, on Flickr
Got spots?
Image
1989 Renault Espace TXE. by bramm77, on Flickr
Renault won the 80s alloy wheel contest I reckon.
Image
1986 Nissan Sunny Spirit SGL. by bramm77, on Flickr
Two OAP cars together, there couldn't be a more OAP photo.
Image
1991 Fiat Tempra 1.9 Turbo Diesel Saloon. by bramm77, on Flickr
Image
1986 Nissan 300C Automatic. by bramm77, on Flickr
Want to be appear an even bigger weirdo when spotting cars? Spot them in a graveyard.

Image
1986 Nissan Bluebird Maxima. by bramm77, on Flickr
Two tone madness, this was really nice.
Image
1988 Peugeot 505 GTD Turbo Saloon. by bramm77, on Flickr
These 505s look so good as Saloons, kind of rubbish they survive so badly really.
Image
1984 Vauxhall Carlton 1800 S Estate. by bramm77, on Flickr
This could be the most unrusty 80s Vauxhall left in the world.
Image
Gilberts Honda, Catford. by bramm77, on Flickr
This sums up Catford. Drab.
Image
1989 Nissan Bluebird 1.6 Premium. by bramm77, on Flickr
Pretty damn clean, I attempted to eat my dinner off of it but someone kept looking at me strangely.
Image
1983 Rolls Royce Camargue. by bramm77, on Flickr
Hideous, but in that charming (or vomit worthy) 80s way.
Image
1985 Freight Rover Sherpa Ex-British Telecom Box Van. by bramm77, on Flickr
Why has no one made this the best burger van ever?
Image
1981 Opel Manta GT-J. by bramm77, on Flickr
Image
1991 Rover Metro 1.1 Chairman. by bramm77, on Flickr
Could motoring be more misery?

MORE LATER, as I am very tired.

Was the taxfile Cortina Mk3 on the South Circular between Tulse Hill & Dulwich?

Oh, and that Camargue has to be the scat spot of the decade!!! They look truly vile in white like that one, but darker colours, especially blue, really suits them.

Quality stuff there, I'm not sure that I've seen a Camargue like that before, looks ever so slightly Aston Martin-y, in a perverse 80s sort of a way.

That Camargue is wonderful, I'm sure they cost more than a Silver Shadow when new, and what's not to love about the Fiat 2300 coupe styling?

Cool, elegant, devastatingly expensive to fix and completely unloved, it's moto-scat solid gold right there

I'm pretty sure the Camargue was in the Guinness Book of Records for being the most expensive production car in the UK.

I like how that Tempra has an "ITALY" plate. In fact, I like that Tempra full stop. What a weapon.

Dunno about that when you tell me of major finds on my doorstep....

The Civics are talking to me for some reason from that selection.
Not Always Auto

Rootes built Cortinas under licence and just changed the badging.

Only just noticed the 17ALY plate on that Tempra, d'oh.
Anyway, here is some more:
Image
1988 Subaru Justy 1.2 GL 4WD. by bramm77, on Flickr
This wasn't London, it was actually in Bournemouth, which is also good for spotting. Like Brighton, sort of.
Image
1982 Renault 18 GTS Saloon. by bramm77, on Flickr
Spotted Sean Bean driving this earlier, or his identical twin unknown to the world, a moto scat exclusive* there.
Image
1987 Nissan Silvia Turbo. by bramm77, on Flickr
Untaxed and off the public highway, no problem
Image
1981 Vauxhall Chevette ES. by bramm77, on Flickr
GRIMMEST
Image
1983 Ford Escort XR3i. by bramm77, on Flickr
Knock Knock. Who's there? OH ITS SOMEONE ELSE ASKING ME HOW MUCH I'LL TAKE FOR THIS.
Image
1985 Vauxhall Nova 1.2 Saloon. by bramm77, on Flickr
The sheer amount of these old Vauxhalls with faded bumpers, it's hard to imagine them ever looking new.
Image
1971 Ford Fairmont 4.9 V8 Station Wagon. by bramm77, on Flickr
Aussie Bruiser, these were actually sold here new briefly.
Image
1984 Honda Civic 3AT Automatic. by bramm77, on Flickr
Image
1996 Rover Mini Traveller. by bramm77, on Flickr
Interesting and slightly good looking but not so sure on newer bodystyle Traveller here, apparently most were made for special order to Japan but some have come back to the UK. And they sell for loads.
Image
1993 Vauxhall Senator 3.0 CD. by bramm77, on Flickr
SENator.Image
1985 Ford Orion 1.6 GL Saloon. by bramm77, on Flickr
The earlier styling just looks so much better on the Orion, the later ones look more plastic, despite there being more metal on the front end... makes sense
Image
1988 Renault Extra Pickup. by bramm77, on Flickr
This awesome* thing lives near me, spotted on RR before I think
Image
1989 Austin Maestro 500 City Van. by bramm77, on Flickr
OMG EX BT. Nah, probably ex AA.
Image
1982 Lancia Gamma 2500 Coupe. by bramm77, on Flickr
These are quite nice. But I wish they were RWD. For reasons I cannot explain.
Image
1990 Vauxhall Astra 1.8 CDi. by bramm77, on Flickr
CD spec ones seem curiously rare, although I imagine more people went for Cavaliers if they wanted posh.
Image
1985 Nissan Sunny 1.5 GL Estate. by bramm77, on Flickr
Image
1990s Volvo B10M Articulated Coach 'Mortons Travel'. by bramm77, on Flickr
Local coach company recently bought this, I can imagine it being a pleasure* to drive
Image
1985 Renault Fuego Turbo. by bramm77, on Flickr
Neglected Fuego, probably worth £100,000.00 of your finest moneys due to TG and HML.
Image
1977 Reliant Kitten DL. by bramm77, on Flickr
An abandoned Relaint? Never seen that before.
Image
1992 Renault 25 TXE Automatic. by bramm77, on Flickr
Neat wafty barges these, shame everyone decided to scrap theirs.
YOU HAVE ALL SEEN THIS ONE ALREADY:

Image
1982 Datsun Stanza 1.6 SGL Hatchback. by bramm77, on Flickr
But there it is again.
The vehicle details for TGX 436X are:
Date of Liability 01 08 2012
Date of First Registration 01 04 1982
Year of Manufacture 1982
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1598cc
CO2 Emissions Not Available
Fuel Type PETROL
Export Marker N
Vehicle Status Licence Due to Expire
AGHH hurry up and retax it, please. I haven't been back there since, mainly because Thornton Heath is HORRID.
More tomorrow.

Your spots are superb, cheers for sharing.

That Mk1 Justy was for sale a few months ago, must be one of the last left.
