This is the moto-scat way to muscle car ownership.

1. Buy one Fairway London Taxi
2. Throw away the rusty bodyshell but keep the sturdy ladder chassis and diesel engine
3. Buy this fibreglass Camaro bodyshell

4. Fit Item 2 under Item 3, folding Tab A through Slot B
5. Don't forget to use the Sherpa instrument pack from the Taxi

Not Always Auto

Rootes built Cortinas under licence and just changed the badging.

Gah!
Wish I'd have been able to buy it when it was £600. Accursed skintness!!!

Someone's gonna get quite a shock when they see it close-up though.

OK, so this is 524 miles away... which sounds like a challenge rather than an obstacle.
Google suggests 10hrs driving, I was thinking 2 or 3 days as a rather pleasant (if slow & noisey) trip.

If you get a train/plane to Edinburgh I'd be happy to drive you the rest of the way.

Now that is an incredibly generous offer!
It's still a very long way from Edinburgh...
(Can get to Edinburgh very easily, it's local train up to Peterborough, then East Coast service all the way up, just under 4hrs)

I know it's Quite Far but it's a drive I always enjoy when I do it for work. Dundee or Perth would be even better if you can get a direct train. We'd pass quite close to Len's house so he might join us too.

The offer's there (not this weekend though) but don't base your decision on it. Remember you'd still have to drive it home- quite pleasurable as far as Perth, the rest of the way maybe not so much. I'll just leave this here to taunt you some more :D

Having had the misfortune to have driven a 126 for quite a few miles I can honestly say doing another 6.3 metres in one would be too much.

One giant leap...
